The inspiration for Murder at The Hive came from a mix of intriguing and unusual sources. It all began when I came across articles about tragic deaths caused by bee attacks. I know, pretty weird, huh? Still, the thing is, although heartbreaking, these stories sparked the idea of crafting a crime story around such an uncommon cause of death.
Adding to this inspiration, a conversation with my aunt about enzymes also played a role in shaping the plot. I won’t get into the nitty-gritty details, but let’s just say it contributed to the development in ways you might not expect.
The story follows detective Jack Larson as he investigates the mysterious death of a beekeeper at a ranch outside Fargo, North Dakota. What initially appears to be a tragic accident soon reveals itself as something far more sinister. As Jack delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of lies, conspiracies, and dangerous secrets, turning what seemed like a simple misfortune into a meticulously planned murder.
